Future Land Study

The Future Study Areas Report: Potential Industrial Lands was received by Council on November 7, 2011. It outlines potential locations for future industrial land in the City. Council is now inviting residents and stakeholders to provide feedback on the report.

Background

In October 2010, Council approved Administration undertaking a two-part study related to Industrial Lands and the Future Study Areas. The two parts are as follows:

  • PART I: Future Industrial Land Requirements Study
    Undertaken by a consultant, hired and overseen by Business & Tourism Development, this report essentially identified how much industrial land the City requires. The report suggested that 360 – 580 gross hectares of land are required. It was completed in June 2010 and received by Council

    Undertaken by Planning & Development, this report provides recommendations as to where additional industrial land could be located within the City.
