The Economic Development Division was created to better position the City in accomplishing its goal to build and diversify St. Albert’s economy in partnership with the community and key stakeholders. The Economic Development Division’s primary objectives are to: • Develop and implement an economic development plan for the City. • Enhance economic development opportunities along St. Albert Trail. • Revitalize the City’s downtown. • Create an attractive investment environment for all vacant employment lands. • Promote the City and attract businesses, investment, residents and visitors. The mandate of the Economic Development Division is to lead the facilitation of business development and attraction. An Economic Development Advisory Board (EDAB) has been formed as a panel representative of the community’s interests to advise the City of St. Albert, specifically the Economic Development Division, in how to best achieve their economic goals.
We are currently looking for St. Albert residents, local businesses or St. Albert employers who want to be part of a group of like-minded leaders to play an active role in developing and implementing economic development initiatives. Applications will be received until May 15, 2013.
